Project euPrevent PROFILE

Lonely? Let’s unite!

In April 2021, euPrevent started a 2.5 year project called euPrevent PROFILE (prevention of loneliness of older people in the Euregio). This project is a collaboration between various partners from the Euregion Meuse-Rhine (EMR). The project focuses on preventing and combating loneliness in older people living in the EMR and increasing awareness of the effects of loneliness.

Project framework

Target group: These actions and its activities involve several target groups, including the vulnerable and older people at risk, local public authorities, healthcare professionals, non-professionals (such as volunteers), social movement associations for older people, and the general public.
Period: 1 April 2021 – 31 August 2023

Objective

The objective of this project is to foster knowledge and exchange of best-practices between and within communities. euPrevent PROFILE will stimulate cross-border cooperation with the aim to prevent and combat loneliness in older people, to promote knowledge exchange, best practices and implementations, to increase awareness of the effects of loneliness and to connect people, experts and organizations who have already been active in this field.

The euPrevent PROFILE project is carried out within the context of Interreg V-A Euregio Meuse-Rhine, with € 740.085,- from the European Regional Development Fund. The project partners bring on co-financing from own resources.
