Get involved! Materials for citizen participation in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine

The Active Citizenship Participation project aims to establish citizen participation in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine for the long term. That’s why we want to ensure that all materials developed during the project remain accessible and usable for anyone interested in the topic.
Whether you are a resident, professional, or policymaker: these tools are for you.
On this page, you’ll find all documents and resources available for download. Feel free to use, share, and apply them in new initiatives both within and beyond the Euregio.

ACP Main Concept

The goal of the project euPrevent ACP (Active Citizenship Participation) is to establish a structural citizen participation framework that is to be embedded in the cross-border decision making process in the Meuse-Rhine Euroregion, starting with the theme ‘Climate change and health’. After implementation, also other health-related issues that equally bear transboundary features will be integrated in the participation framework.

Scientific insights: how does the PST-EMR work in practice?

For those interested in the scientific background of the PST-EMR:
As part of the Master’s programme Healthcare Policy, Innovation and Management, Andreea Sima conducted research on the PST in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine.
Her study explores how the tool can support cross-border participation on climate and health issues. Opportunities and barriers to citizen engagement are analysed using the Public Value Theory framework.

Working across borders: what we learned about citizen participation in the Euregio

Our final conference focused on cross-border forms of citizen participation in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine.
We shared practical experiences, key insights, and recommendations from various projects and initiatives.
The PST-EMR was one of the tools highlighted as a practical example. The conference brought together residents, professionals, and policymakers from three countries.
You can find the presentation with the main takeaways here.
