euPrevent ACP stakeholders provide ideas for citizen participation in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine
April 12, 2024

The euPrevent ACP stakeholders gathered for their second meeting on 11 April 2024 to discuss the topic of citizen participation as part of the euPrevent ACP project.

The focus was on discussing the development of participation formats to enable a broad range of citizens’ voices from the EMR to be heard on the topic of climate change and health. The need to create inclusive and effective formats that have a lasting impact on the region was particularly emphasised.

Another focus was on the concept of “Health in all Policies”, which encompasses not only the understanding of medical terms, but also the ability of people to make informed decisions that affect their health and the health of the planet. Participants recognised the importance of this concept for addressing current challenges in the EMR and discussed ways to integrate the concept into participation formats.

Particular attention was also paid to the discussion of ideas for establishing a sustainable process of citizen participation in the EMR. Stakeholders contributed a wide range of suggestions on how to inspire citizens to participate in the region in the long term.

We would like to thank all stakeholders for their participation and look forward to the next meeting in autumn this year!
