Conference Enhancing Healthcare Cooperation in Cross-border Regions<\/h1>\n

On December 4th 2018 the European Commission will host a Conference on\u00a0Enhancing Healthcare Cooperation in Cross-border Regions‘. Brigitte van der Zanden will talk about Crossing Borders in Health in the Euregion Meuse-Rhine.<\/p>\n

About the event<\/h3>\n

More than one in three\u00a0<\/strong>Europeans live in a cross-border territory. Cooperation between health services, facilities, providers and authorities has the potential to transform proximity to a border from a common problem to a joint opportunity leading to better health outcomes, local innovation, jobs, and growth.<\/p>\n

Setting up cooperation projects across borders is notoriously tricky.\u00a0<\/strong>But it needn\u2019t be that way. This is why the European Commission is organising the\u00a0Conference „Enhancing Healthcare Cooperation in Cross-border Regions“ on 4 December 2018,\u00a0<\/strong>to present the results of a pioneering mapping study of\u00a0successful cooperation projects<\/strong>\u00a0and its\u00a0toolkit<\/strong>\u00a0for practitioners interested in setting up cross-border cooperation themselves.<\/p>\n

Aimed principally at professionals in the health and cooperation fields, this compact event showcases good practices and creative solutions in cross-border health cooperation, and the challenges that border regions have encountered and overcome.<\/p>\n

Examples of health cooperation vary from information-sharing, to streamlined patient mobility, to jointly managed hospitals, innovative technologies and eHealth solutions.<\/p>\n
